Boy With Down Syndrome Is Rejected Before Dance, Then Date Shows Up And Mom Completely Loses It [Video]

A teenager with Down syndrome was rejected by all the girls he asked to the homecoming dance. Then he got an unexpected surprise that turned his night around (video below).

Dnaiel Rivas, 17, has Down syndrome, but he is just like other teen his age, with the same dreams and desires of most teens. He dreams of going to college and becoming a chef. But, until then, he wants to enjoy his high school functions, and that included attending his homecoming dance with a date. When the time came, he asked several girls to be his date, but was turned down, according to FaithIt.

When a 10th grader Kylie Fronius heard that Daniel was looking a date for prom, she immediately stepped up and wanted to surprise her classmate.

One day at school, she asked him to be his date.

So, she asked Daniel to be her date one day at school. Of course, Daniel was delighted by Kylie’s homecoming proposal. “Someone took the time to take my son to homecoming,” said Daniel’s mother, Tonya Rivas. “Words can’t even describe what I’m feeling right now.” Video of Kylie asking Daniel to homecoming went viral and KVVU covered the story.

“I don’t think of kids that have a disability… I don’t think of them as being different,” Kylie told KVVU. “I hope I can make his night fun.”

Tonya was stunned by Kylie’s gesture.

She said, “It’s not that Daniel has a disability. It’s Kylie didn’t see any disability. That is what your heart wants as a mom.”

The FOX5 Surprise Squad at KVVU were impressed by Kyle’s generosity after covering the story. They decided they wanted to be a part of Daniel’s night and help make it even more special.

The Surprise Squad is known locally for recognizing people who do good things in the community and give them a big surprise.

The night of Daniel and Kylie began when the Surprise Squad sent a Rolls Royce to pick them up.

First, the couple was brought to a fancy dinner. Then they were taken to the homecoming dance, where they got the red carpet treatment for their entrance, according to LittleThings.

Daniel bu-rst into tears of joy before the night was over. The Surprise Squad finished off the evening by ensuring more memories would be made and letting everyone know they were sending Kylie, Daniel, and their families to Disneyland.

To make sure the rest of Daniel’s dreams continued coming true, he also received a $10,000 scholarship from United Nissan in Las Vegas.

After that, they surprised Kylie with a brand new car.

“All you had to do was watch the (original) news story that aired, and you saw a young lady with a huge heart, and she was inspirational,” said Don Forman, the owner of United Nissan, revealing his motivation for making both Kylie and Daniel’s dreams come true.

Often, just one simple yet kind gesture to create a snowball effect as others become motivated and inspired to also be generous and kind. Kylie Fronius did not ask Daniel Rivas to homecoming to be rewarded or noticed, but good deeds tend to have that result.

The story of KVVU’s about Daniel has gone viral with over 2 million views on YouTube. Hundreds of viewers commented on the generosity of Kylie and the Surprise Squad. “This is amazing, I watched this with tears in my eyes,” one user commented. “We need more of this in the world.”

“Wow! Am all in tears,” Another viewer wrote. “When will we learn to be like this sweet young girl! Do NOT discriminate Daniel has a lot of potential, giving so much love alone is a gift! Way to go Daniel!! Best of luck!!!”

It doesn’t cost us anything to spread a little love, and the result is priceless, both for the person receiving it and the one showing it.

This is exactly how we as a society should act not only in the private sector but in the media as well.

Highlighting the good in people instead of the bad! Kylie has more class, moral fiber, and integrity than many adults, God bless her heart!
