Ciara is finally revealing the prayer she said before meeting Russell Wilson. While promoting her new album, Beauty Marks, the “Level Up” singer sat down with radio personality Angie Martinez for an interview and detailed parts of her prayer that she believes led her to him. “I prayed for a God-fearing man. I prayed for discernment. I prayed for wisdom, to really learn from the wisdom that I’ve gained from the experience that I’m going through,” she said.

I prayed for a man that was worldly as well. Because I love to explore so someone that was gonna edify my world, [that] was important to me. I was ready to level up!” Ciara also admitted she thought she would be single for four years after her turbulent separation with her son’s father, Future, in 2014. “I had that in my mind … I was really ready to take my time and be patient and let love really fall in love the right way,” she told the audience. “I desired something new, I desired something different.
