A woman has gone viral on social media after forcing her boyfriend to don a t-shirt with her face on it for a night on the town, which read: “If your [sic] reading this you’ve been looking at my man for too long.” Holly Cockerill bought the tee for her other half, Karl Hennan, before he went for a birthday night out with the boys.
The t-shirt also featured a photo of Holly glaring, along with a warning to other women that stated: “This is how I’d be looking at you if I was here. HI, I’m Holly, his GIRLFRIEND!”
Posting a picture to Twitter that showed Karl wearing the shirt – in which he can be seen rolling his eyes while Holly grins behind him – she wrote: “Don’t think Karl likes the new top I got him for his birthday x wear it with pride hun x.”
The post soon racked up over 12,000 likes and 1,900 retweets, prompting Holly to follow up the photo with a video of her and Karl in the bathroom, joking: “How dare he not wear it on the toilet!!!!!!!”
In another tweet, Karl asked her: “Babe I really don’t wanna wear this stupid f–king top tonight can I take the thing off?”
Holly jokingly replied: “No you best keep it on at all times, even around ya family you little b-tch.”Someone commented on Twitter to say they were a fan of the idea, writing: “Twitter is the best for giving us these ideas!”
But not everyone has found the funny side of the gift, with many labeling Holly ‘insecure’. One person, who wasn’t a fan of the idea, commented: “How insecure… do you have to be.”Another wrote: “And I thought I was insecure but DAMN you a whole nother level.”

Someone else pointed out the typo on the t-shirt, writing: “If YOU’RE going to print something permanent, let’s say, like a t-shirt – and make it public, you’d better make sure you’ve got YOUR spelling correct.”
But Holly – who has been with Karl for seven years – has since responded to the haters, saying the shirt was merely a ‘joke’. “I can’t cope with the responses to the top I got my bf,” she tweeted.
“It’s called a joke because me and my boyfriend actually like to have a laugh, it’ll be in the bin after knowing him.” Well, let’s hope Karl had a good birthday night out, with or without the t-shirt…
